Lunch Program

In 2016-2017, Keplar Elementary will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP, to provide all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of family income. Parents will not be required to fill out an application for free or reduced meals; however, please fill out the Household Information Survey that was sent home with your child. Keplar Elementary is a Title I School and receives funding from the federal government to supplement our instructional supplies, technology equipment, and personnel. Federal funding is based on information gathered from free/reduced meal applications. The survey will be taking the place of the meal applications to provide this information. Please complete and return the survey as soon as possible to help ensure Keplar Elementary continues to receive our federal funding. If you have any questions, please call Keplar at (423) 272-9390 or the Child Nutrition Dept. at (423) 272-2128.

FFVP (Fresh Fruit Vegetable Program) is offered to students in addition to breakfast and lunch. This allows students to receive a fruit/vegetable snack in addition toregularly offered school meals. Studies have shown that nutrition plays a big role in your child's performance in school, both in academics and extra-curricular activities. Nutritious food gives the child more energy, improves his/her ability to concentrate and improves behavior in the classroom. Encourage your child to eat a well balanced, nutritious meal in the school cafeteria.
